Spraytanning Guide

PRE AND POST TAN TIPS

Pre-Tan:

  • Waxing/ shaving should be done 24 hours prior to tanning session and never afterwards.
  • Certain chemicals in products can affect the quality of your Spray Tan and should be avoided for your session e.g perfume/ deodorant/ moisturizer/ make-up and oil-based cosmetics.

 

Exfoliate:

Always exfoliate before tanning, preferably with a water based exfoliators an oil base exfoliator can form a barrier on the skin. This will remove the dead/ dry cells and smooth the skin surface, providing the perfect base for tanning. Pay particular attention to areas such as elbows, knees, knuckles and ankles.

Rinse off and dry your skin thoroughly. DO NOT moisturize prior to tanning as this will create a barrier to the tan.

Clothes:

Wear loose, dark clothes with open shoes in order for your tan to develop evenly so that you have the best results.

 

POST TAN:

  • Avoid wetting the hands and body for the at least 4 hours as this will affect the development.
  • Avoid touching the skin with your hands as the bronzer will transfer to palms (lemon juice will remove any staining of the palms if this does happen)
  • Avoid exercise or activity that may cause perspiration during the first 1-4 hours after the tan session.

Hydration After Care:

Post showering, we recommend that you moisturize twice daily as this will reduce the rate of exfoliation. It is preferable to a moisturizer that contains no oils, alcohol or excessive chemicals, such as an Aqueous cream, as this can affect the quality of your tan.

Drink lots of water to keep skin hydrated 🙂
